This is an advertisement that I found in the Communication Arts Design Annual 43, November 2002 issue. The first thing I thought when I saw this in the magazine was, "why is there a silhouette of a chicken in the middle of the page?" After I took a few seconds to look at it, I realized there were three eggs in the chicken. The top egg contained what the company was for, Portfolio Center; the second egg containing information in regards to what the company is about; and the third is what I believe to bring the idea together. The idea came from a review saying they were "Grade 'A'", just like eggs are supposed to be. ~_^
What is so inspirational is how they could take a review such as "Grade 'A'" and take it to the next level using a simple silhouette of a chicken and a few eggs to emphasize the main points in the advertisement. I want my eggs scrambled with onions please! =]

They really ran with the "grade A" idea.
ReplyDeleteI instantly thought of the classic "Which came first: the chicken or the egg?" question when I saw this. I think the add is even more successful because it uses those two elements.
